This urban permaculture design course in London will be divided into 4 modules, as follows:
MODULE 1 - INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE
8th - 10th May 2026

• Concepts and themes in design: Natural ecosystems - Web of life - Yield and Resource
• Design Methods: Observation - Analysis of elements - Flow analysis - Maps & data overlay - Zones & sectors - Slope & aspect - Guilds - Scale of permanence

• Personal Permaculture: Applying principles to our personal life

MODULE 2 - SOIL, TREES & FOOD
22nd-24th May 2026
• Climatic factors: How does climate affect our design? - How can we (positively) affect climate?
• Trees: Trees and their role in the ecosystem
• Agroforestry & Food Forests: Natural forests and natural succession - Food forests - Layers
• Soil & Food production: Soil science - Container Gardening & Edible Balconies
• DYI project: Build your own container to grow food in!!
MODULE 3 - WASTE MANAGEMENT & WATER
5th-7th June 2026

MODULE 4 - SOCIAL PERMACULTURE & FINAL DESIGNS
19th-21st June 2026
To be able to provide an international 72 hours Permaculture Design Certificate, the course will include a final design project. All students will do a project simulating the design for a client. The project will be developed in groups during the last three days of the course. On Sunday the 24th, students will present their final designs and we will celebrate the end of the course after handing our the certificates.
The Facilitators

Eduardo Terzidis is a permaculture teacher and consultant, a writer and a yoga teacher. As an engineer, he wanted to help the world, yet he felt the need to “be out there”, learning and sharing with the very people who seek the same change he envisioned. He currently manages a farm in the south of Portugal, and he is active in the production of films, videos and books where he weaves together ecology and yoga philosophy. He also offers courses and retreats globally.

Jack Hodgson is a qualified Permaculture Designer from London. He ran his own Permaculture No Dig Market Garden in Greater London for 4 years supplying the local community, markets and chefs his beyond organic produce.
He now runs an urban project where he grows microgreens and mushrooms in a 20ft shipping container, which he specialises in teaching others how to grow. He currently teaches and consults for a variety of projects.

Darren Le Baron is an educator specialising in mycology and psychedelic research, and is based between the UK and the Caribbean.
His achievements include launching the UK's first accredited Mycology and Mushroom Cultivation course for schools and young people in 2021, providing hands-on experience to empower school children and at-risk youth. He is also an Organic Horticulturist and Permaculture tutor who supports schools, businesses and so called hard to reach communities around the world to create holistic and sustainable working systems.
